10:00AM - F500 - workout with Bobby...
Chest press 2x5, 1x4 (80,100,100)
Hex bar deadlift 3x5 (170)
Press/push press combo 3 x 2/4 (65,65,75)
3 rounds NFT
5 thrusters (65)
* "Fran" is standard Crossfit workout of 21-15-9 repetions of thrusters (95lbs for men/65lbs for women and old men) and pull-ups done for time.
Notes - A little sapped on all the strength work from just having run a bit. Enjoyed the hex-bar deadlift because
it was a little easier on the back which is why I shy away from deadlifts so much.
Was a bit sluggish on the Mini-Fran workout but wobbled through unbroken. Bobby did ~2:20. He looked great
afterwords which is always a good sign.
The workout was a nice little test. It was an especially good test because we might actually do
it again...hee hee. The trouble with the full Fran..21-15-9 of everything...especially for me...even just using 65lbs instead of 95lbs...is that it's too hard. Sandwiched between all the running and all, it's a bit too daunting and the recovery is a little too hard. This was much better.
My feeling is that you are at where you are at. And you have to train based on where you are at...not based on where
you dream you want to be. You have to be where you are and go from there. And just cause somebody wrote down a workout and declared it a standard test, there is no reason you have to do it like they say to do it...especially if it's too
hard...or too easy. Seems obvious.
Funny how the mind starts boxing you into things.
