No Complaining

No complaining.  Make it a discipline. It will serve you well.  This is different than looking at the world through rose colored glasses...trying to be "positive" all the time.  It is simply a matter of accepting circumstances as they are...without comment.  Endurance athletes need this quality.  Well...actually we all do.

Complaining weakens you physically and spiritually.  It attracts harm.  Work to change undesirable circumstances...but soldier on always.

I don't have much to say about this post, except that I really enjoyed it. Complaining is a waste of time and energy.

Hey Marshall,

Thanks...I think I wrote this to remind myself as much as anything...hee hee...

Ultrarunners...as you well know...learn to adopt the "no complaining" stance..or they don't stick with ultrarunning.

Hope your training is going well.

All the best,
Paul

I'm sure I've done my share of complaining, but I know it's a waste of time. I think I was accusing people of adding rocks, roots, and hills to the trails at Stone Cat during my last lap.

Training is going great so far. I took it easy in December, but things are back to normal in January. I did all of the CCAC grand prix races this winter and those went very well. In two or three races, my pace was 30 seconds faster than last year on the same courses. I still don't like the short races, but it was nice to see that much improvement from last winter.

I don't mind this cold weather, but I am definitely looking forward to getting back to the track this summer.
