2x3 hexbar deadlifts (200lbs)
1x3 power cleans (95lbs)
5 rounds of the following:
3 x power cleans (95lbs)
10 x burpee box jumps (18")
Didn't time the circuits but didn't lollygag too much either. Caught my breath after burpees so that my form on the power cleans didn't get any worse than it already is. Actually felt good.
Made a subtle but definite change in approach this week. Used incline walking on the treadmill instead of "easy" running on recovery days...which meant I only ran 4 times in the week. Old habits die hard so it wasn't so easy to leg go of the pattern of running every day...or nearly every day...that I've used since my early 20's. But I notice I feel much better and the runs I did felt much better than they have been feeling.
Throughout my running life, I've almost always been able to restore energy and balance simply by making certain easy days are easy enough. But lately...this last year or two in particular...recovery has been erratic and I've often been tired on days when I should be brimming with energy. So...it could be that "easy" running is not so easy anymore...for me. And now...in order to recover properly I need something I bit more gentle.
We'll see...so far so good...
