Got the result of my re-test back from Optimal Wellness Labs this past week. Instead of aging at the rate of an 82 year old..which were the results of the first test...it shows I'm aging at the rate of a 69 year old. Even though I'm 57, this is good improvement. I don't get too freaked about the age numbers because it's merely showing I'm under a bit of stress and not operating at optimum. I do feel much, much better than when I started and that's the main thing.
Working standing up...or with a bar stool to lean against...continues to be a success. Hips feel 100% better. I can thank my Dad for his help.
About 10 days ago, I began taking a supplement called Extreme Endurance made by Xendurance. I got the idea from Zach Bitter's blog. Zach just set the American record in 100 mile race in 11:47. Normally I wouldn't pay all that much attention, but he did a very compelling and objective review of the product. And he has shown such extraordinary endurance and consistency in both racing and training that I thought I'd at least try it
So far...I feel like Extreme Endurance has been extremely helpful. The company says it takes ~72 hours to feel the effects. I began taking them on 12/20/13. All of this is anecdotal...but you can simply look at my training log and decide if you think it's having a positive effect. Apparently, the company has done some fairly rigorous scientific testing to prove the efficacy of the product. Personally, I go mostly by my own experiences...and so far, it's looking good. Oh yeah...I have absolutely no financial arrangement with the company.
Finally, the switch to an emphasis on a lower carbohydrate, higher fat diet continues to agree with me...both in terms of digestion and energy. This is nothing new for me. It's just that I regularly fall off the wagon. Rather than wait until after the holidays, I decided to cut out the sweets and white flour and pasta going into the holidays. A bit unorthodox...but glad I did. It didn't take long to feel the benefits.
It's nice when changes seem to pay off. It doesn't always go that way.
